WEEK 11
BC FINAL
BC Place Stadium
This game was for all the marbles. Our undefeated season was on the line, and we were ready to go.
It was a tightly played game, and we found oursleves down 6-0 at halftime. After some shrewd coaching and motivation at halftime, our team came out and played very well in the second half. A big passing play from Tyrone Barnes to Mitch Black setup Aber Neufled on a short TD run. The extra point from kicker Jason Dhaliwal put us in front 7-6 with just a few minutes to go.
Our kickoff was not good however, and Tweedsmuir started with great field position. They capitalized by scoring with about a minute and a half to go in the game. We were trailing 13-7.
We got the ball back with a chance to tie the game, but it was not our day. Our tremendous season came to a heartbreaking end. Our first and only loss of the season came inside BC Place, in the championship game.
It was very emotional for many of the boys as they saw their championship ring slip away. Tears could be seen in lots of eyes. We held our heads high however, and we were not the best team that day. The loss gave players and coaches even more motivation to come back stronger, faster, and better next year.
Loking back, it was a tremendously successful season. Our team had not won a game for the last two years, and all of a sudden we go 11-0 and run to the finals. Our season put our team on the football map, and hopefully we can continue to grow as a team and as individuals. See you all next season!
